InnovaCare Health grew from the vision of leaders like Dr. Richard Shinto. Dr. Richard Shinto thought way back in 1998 that he could do some good in the medical insurance community. He took his 20+ years of exceptional expertise to begin work in the industry. He had obtained a medical degree from the State University of New York at Stony Brook. This is one of the reasons why he believed he was so qualified to help in this industry. His MBA from the University of Redlands would prove to be useful in his new role as well. Not only did he become a valued member of the community, but he encourages companies to enact integrative techniques that would promote the benefits available to their clientele. Dr. Richard Shinto began this journey with the North American Medical Management company. This company was located in California, but they had eyes set on a national coverage map. To facilitate this growth, they would foster relationships all over the nation. One of the relationships that grew into something special was the partnership that they cultivated with The Straus Group. In 2003, this partnership with Daniel E Straus would prove to be a beneficial move for the company. During this time they were able to acquire a health care system located in Puerto Rico that would become their crowning achievement later as InnovaCare. It was an exciting time for the company as a group. For more details visit crunchbase.com
In 2012 the company changed yet again. InnovaCare became an entity unto itself. The North American Medical Management Company holdings had been sold and every attachment to that entity was severed. InnovaCare was free to operate on their own with Dr. Richard Shinto at their head. The first thing that Dr. Rich Shinto did to help ensure the future for the medical insurance company appointed valuable leadership. For Chief Administrative Officer he selected Penelope Kokkinides. Kokkinides was valuable for this role because not only did she possess more than 20 years of experience in this field, but she was extremely well-educated. Her multiple degrees in social work, mental health, and public health made her a shoe-in for this role. She proves immediately that she would be an exceptional member of the team by implementing wonderful programs and management systems for the company. These management systems are something that many plans are built off of today. InnovaCare has a bright future because of the leadership that has been shown by Dr. Richard Shinto and the team spirit displayed by members like Penelope Kokkinides.
